Mixed Media
Mixed Media & Assemblage design is an artform that makes me feel resourceful, inventive, and what matters most...inspired. Collecting items is a hobby of mine, a fire lights inside when I can give objects a new life through being used in my artworks. Enjoy :)

Hair to me is a personal expression. My ethnic background is Argentinian, Black, French, Scottish, and Italian. My freshman year of college, I attended an HBCU (historically Black college/university) in New Orleans. I was exiled for being white-passing, light-skinned and for being mixed. I was criticized and made to feel that I did not have the right to be at that school, or wear braids. Since transferring to LMU, I have worn braids and have felt accepted and appreciated. This sculpture is a representation of prejudices I have dealt with and the beauty and artwork I see in braiding and myself. I don’t allow judgement to restrict my self expression anymore. This assemblage sculpture is made from a rattan hanging lamp, a plastic mannequin head, my braiding hair, beads, combs, and hair picks.
Wood attached to plastic mannequin head, beads, comb, hair pick.

3-D Design
Paper Lamp and Radio Bar Cart are both from my 'Design: Concept to Form' course at Loyola Marymount University during my senior year. I designed Paper Lamp after the fuchsia ballerina flower and formed the top of the lamp after a ballerina's tutu. I wanted to incorporate the organic forms of nature along with the structured manmade products inspired by such organic forms. Radio Bar Cart is an upcycled furniture project where I turned a vintage radio into a bar cart by repainting, collaging, and adding wheels and a tray for drinks.
